Digitaler Check-In

Web, PIN or Key Cards: Digital Key with CODE2ORDER and Partners

With an automated check-in including mobile keys, you offer your guests a fully digital guest journey, similar to the check-in process of well-known airlines. At the same time, you automate your internal work processes, so the hotel staff has more time for a personal guest service. Last but not least, you can save costs and time with a digital door opening by reducing reception times.

Depending on your PMS (property-management-system) and the door locking system provider you have in use, you can choose between different types of mobile keys / digital door opening options in your hotel. In this article, we want to illustrate which options you have with CODE2ORDER to digitize the whole hotel check-in process. On our partner page you will find an overview of the PMS (property management systems) and door locking system providers we are currently working with.

There are 3 ways you can use CODE2ORDER to implement an automated, digital check-in process including mobile keys in your hotel.

1. WEB door opening

The room door can be opened with the guests' mobile device. This does not require an app download or login. The door opening works via the web connection with the digital companion (web app) of CODE2ORDER. With one click, the room door (or doors in other areas of the hotel) can be opened. There is no need to purchase additional hardware, such as tablets.

Web door opening is currently available with our partners Salto, Assa Abloy and 4SUITES.

To find out how the digital guest journey including web door opening is implemented in practice, read our report on the apartment hotel Das Schlafwerk and the Schlossbräu MK Hotels.

2. PIN door opening

The room door can be opened by guests via a PIN. Guests receive the PIN during the check-in process. The PIN is either available in CODE2ORDER's digital companion, sent via email, or displayed on the KIOSK or tablet during on-site check-in (guests enter the reservation number and last name on the tablet or scan the QR code from the booking confirmation).

PIN door opening is currently available with our partner SAG Smart Access.

To see what PIN door opening looks like in combination with digital check-in, read our report on ZÄHLWERK Apartments.

3. KEY CARD door opening

Room card encoding at the front desk is possible via our Check-in KIOSK solution. With the Check-in Kiosk software license, hotel guests can check-in independently at the front desk, fill out the registration form and encode the room card - without the assistance of hotel staff.

Key Card door opening is currently available with our partners Salto, Messerschmitt, Assa Abloy and Häfele.

In our report about the Hotel St. Hubertus of the Black Forest Hospitality, you will learn how the Key Card door opening works in practice. Furthermore, our solutions including key card door opening are also in use at Abasto Hotels.
